Week 54, Colby - Being in the Flow

Image
me vibing in the sunshine while it was raining Well this past week was super great. We taught Lots of people and really helped the members with some of their problemas that they shared with us. I'm grateful for that.  I don't have much time to write this so I will only include the best things. I saw the comet in the sky! Every time I look on the expanse of the heavens and see the stars and the moon and now a comet I can't help but feel deep love and appreciation towards my Heavenly Father. He is the grand author of the universe, the King of heaven and it is evident by these works. Truly all things denote there is a God. I also fried some chicken wings. So that was good. It was my first time and I had to wear a winter coat and oven mitt for fear of getting burned by the oil. It all worked out though. They tasted good. These past weeks I have received more revelation about myself and how the spirit works than in all the rest of my mission combined and I'm so grateful for ...

Week 53, Colby - Following the Spirit to the Middle of Nowhere

Kansas/Colorado border So this week was interesting. We didn't have too many lessons but we were able to get to know some of the members better and get some good scripture study in the whole week due to the abundance of time on our hands. This week our branch met for the first time since March and they seemed very glad to be there. It's a very small branch (only 20 members of that branch came) but a very happy branch. We are going to work with them and get to know them a lot better this coming week. Today, pday was actually the most missionary-esque day of my week. We were on our way to go visit a historic site in Kansas when I started to feel a bit unsure and uneasy about going there. I felt we should go to a different monument, much farther but on our bucket list, and I suggested that to my companion. We decided to go there instead. We spent two hours getting to a place called Mount Sunflower- the highest point in Kansas. As we were about to arrive we sa...

Week 52, Colby -Wheat Jesus!

Elder Walbom with his companion, Elder Leder I got transferred to Colby, KS which is like 2 miles across. It's a very small town. My new companion is Elder Leder and we are trying to get to know people here but we can't actually talk to them in person. We saw Wheat Jesus this week. (Apparently, a known attraction in Kansas.) Kansas is super flat but it has a beauty and makes me appreciate the handiwork of the Lord in all his creations. I can't look at the earth and the things upon it without admitting there is a God. From the planets to the flowers every creation testifies of their Creator. I have gotten a few opportunities this week also to serve people here and I am already loving these Kansans. I think I'm gonna like it here. Adios!
