Dear Elder Walbom-
I just wanted you to see the fruits of the seeds you planted.  This is the branch choir which performed FIVE NUMBERS at the Christmas program today!  You are gone but not forgotten
😊
You are a wonderful missionary. We are so grateful we got the chance to know you.  May the Lord continue to guide and bless you always.  Wishing you a beautiful Christmas.

Here is Elder Alex Walbom's New Year's email:
"This week we found out that one of our investigators was put into a home for people that need help with drinking problems. That is the second time that  it has happened to us and it's definitely a bummer.

Let's see... The sisters had a baptism this past week and it was nice. I got to direct the music for the services. Other than that it has been a pretty slow week. We weren't chased by dogs, we weren't chased by bolos, we weren't chased by anything actually... yay.

We have to go to a gift exchange with members today and that's kind of stressful but it should be fun.

They still went crazy with their fireworks on New Years, perhaps even more than on Christmas.

I smacked my head really hard, started bleeding and I hope I don't have a concussion but that remains to be seen so I will update that next week.

Hmmm. I got a surprise birthday party thrown for me by the family of a recent convert. They framed it as a family home evening before we came but when I got there they surprised me with a cake and candles and singing! I was so touched that they would take the time and effort to throw me a little party and plus the cake was good. Yes I still insisted that we do a noche de hogar because we really needed as many as possible before the end of December.

Anyways Happy New Year!
-Elder Walbom"

"I got some good pics of this cool butterfly."

"We saw two cars (exactly the same) parked by each other. We passed and then had to do a double take. Like...uhhhh. We were not hallucinating and here is the proof."

"Gotta love the irony of this one." [littering is prohibited]
