Week 30, Primero de Julio - Two More Fechas!

"So this week was great and Victoria and Francis are really progressing!

First we took them to the temple Friday. At first, Francis was not going to be able to come to the temple, but we were delayed in our departure and so Francis was able to come with us. She protested at first saying, "I don't have the right clothes, yaddayadda," but I just said "whatever, get in the car." Not like that but you know what I mean.

They both had wonderful experiences in the temple and received answers and strength in their problems. The Temple sisters took them for a tour in the temple grounds and then took them into the foyer of the temple. I could tell it was a fantastic experience for the both of them.

After that, Victoria decided that she would participate in the Fast on Fast Sunday. We were so proud of her! She really is committed to repenting and coming to Christ. We had a really great lesson with them Sunday night where we prayed about the Book of Mormon and she received her own answer that night that the Book of Mormon was the word of God.

We then came back two nights later to teach about the Word of Wisdom. And it turns out that they are all good with all of it! Victoria gave up coffee three years ago when she got pregnant. They were worried about herbal teas but we calmed their minds about that.

At the end of that lesson, we asked if there was anything else they would like to say and it got quiet. Hermana Victoria said there was something and she looked at Francis. Francis looked up and said that she would like to be baptized. We asked her to explain why and she told us this amazing story.

She was talking to her boss at work and they were just chatting about stuff in their job and then they started talking about religion; they never talk about religion. Francis mentioned that her daughter was really progressing in the church and how she had gone too but her daughter was going to get baptized. Her boss got really excited and told her that she was the President of the Relief Society in her own ward and asked her about how she felt. They started talking and Francis got her answer that she should be baptized. She had been so afraid and didn't understand too much but in that moment the Spirit gave her witness that God doesn't look on our understanding of everything. He doesn't look on our failures. He only looks on our heart.

So we set their date to be baptized together on Feb. 22.

Plus the daughter of one of our recent converts decided she wants to get baptized and we set a date for Feb. 29.

Hooray for 3 baptisms in Feb!
Adios!!!
