Week 56, Colby - The Haircut Miracle
(Looks more like Southern Utah, but these Kansas cliffs are made out of chalk!)
So Friday afternoon President called us and told my companion he needed to get a haircut that same afternoon. We were scrambling to find a place to get him a haircut because he did not want us to have to take scissors to his hair. Anyways we called and looked at every single place near Colby on google maps and they were either closed or booked through the afternoon. So we finally called our last option, a tiny haircutting place in Oakley, a town about 25 miles away, and they actually were open and had room for two appointments at 2:30 (Elder Leder also needed a haircut).
So we went to the only place open and not booked in all of northwestern Kansas. As our companions were getting haircuts, Elder Peterson and I started talking to this guy who had come in after us. He asked us who we were and all that and we started talking about religion and he expressed his desire to come closer to God. He was working on overcoming an alcohol addiction and he wanted to get married to his fiance but he didn't want to do it as he was then. He said he would be happy to meet with us over facebook and we got his number and facebook! He was so kind.
I think it's a miracle that we went to some far-flung place in a far-off town that we would never have otherwise gone to and we found someone who needed us. The Lord directed us to go there.
Anyways just know that the Lord watches over everyone and is mindful of you and will send angels when you need help.
Today we went to some cool rock monoliths in Kansas called Monument Rocks and Little Jerusalem. I got very burned but it was still fun. There are pics below.
Adios!

"Tarantula hawk wasp. Those things can be so huge.
Everyone would just scatter when one flew near us."
